Specialized Histopathology Services- MGH Core (DF/HCC)

The Specialized Histopathology Services Core at MGH in Charlestown provides high-quality, timely, state-of-the-art technical and professional pathology services to investigators. The core has expertise working with human tissues as well as a variety of experimental models (including rodents, fish, pigs and monkeys). The Core performs routine histology and special histochemical stains and also assists in experimental design and the development, application, and interpretation of biomarkers.

The Specialized Histopathology Services- MGH Core offers a variety of histopathology services. 

  • Routine processing, sectioning and staining of paraffin/ OCT samples
  • Special histological staining
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • Specialized Eye pathology services (human and mouse)

Hours of Operation

We offer walk-in hours for Drop-Off and Pick-Up Monday-Friday between 10:00am to 3:30pm.

All services are provided as a fee for service function to recover expenses for services rendered. In the event that results are not what you anticipated, we must still recoup our expenses and payment is required.

The Pathology Cores are committed to provide high quality services and diligent care of materials and specimens. However, we will not be responsible for unsuccessful projects stemming from inadvertent specimen damage or loss, improper tissue handling or fixation, or reagent/equipment failure.
