Cardiovascular Physiology Core

The Cardiovascular Physiology Core is designed to provide cutting edge surgical techniques, in vivo imaging, and physiological measurements (Langendorff, Blood Pressure, and primary cell isolation). We provide intellectual expertise primarily in the area of cardiovascular physiology, collaborate nationally and internationally, both on the development of appropriate models for disease and on the use of established experimental models of disease (eg. renal, hepatic, vascular,  cardiac, amyloid, sepsis etc) . The  CV Core routinely investigates safety and efficacy of novel therapeutics (genetic or chemical) on small animal models (fish and rodents) and performs expertise on associated work that stems from physiological assessment eg., cell cultre/in vitro and ex vivo.  As such, we offer a full service preclinical study management option, and work collaboratively in a cross-disciplinary manner.
