Driving Simulator Core
The driving simulator core is located at Schepens Eye Research Institute, 20 Staniford Street, Boston, MA 02114.
The core houses a high-fidelity FAAC Inc. (Ann Arbor, MI) DE-1500 driving simulator with a horizontal field of view of 225 degrees. The simulator is equipped with a 6-camera, remote eye and head tracking system (Smart-Eye Pro 6; Goteborg, Sweden) which enables tracking across 180 degrees.
Before using the driving simulator for the first time, please schedule training with the driving simulator technician. Once you are trained in how to use the simulator you will be permitted to book time in the simulator for "unassisted driving simulator usage" i.e,, to use the driving simulator unsupervised for tasks such as scenario development and testing, pilot data collection and main study data collection. Currently we do not provide scenario development or data collection services.
