The Animal Visual Assessment Core at Mass Eye and Ear is a shared research resource that provides advanced in vivo ocular imaging and visual function assessment in animal models to support basic, translational, and preclinical vision science. By combining specialized instrumentation, standardized protocols, and expert technical oversight, the core enables high-quality, reproducible evaluation of ocular anatomy, physiology, and disease-related outcomes.
The BioMEMS Core (BMC) provides know-how and state-of-the-art facilities for biomedical investigators interested in new microfluidic tools to measure, control, and perturb the cellular microenvironment at the scale comparable to cell size.
Our core mission is to advance health services and outcomes research that improves the quality, safety, value, and equity of surgical care. To support this mission, we will develop, securely manage, and steward robust data resources that enable high-quality research and collaboration across Mass General Brigham. The core will provide expert biostatistical and methodological consultation to CSPH investigators and surgeon scientists, supporting study design, data acquisition and management, advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses, and interpretation of findings. In addition, we will facilitate access to institutional data sources, ensure appropriate data governance and security, and partner with investigators to translate research findings into impactful publications, grants, and innovations that advance surgical care delivery.
High fidelity driving simulator with 225 degree horizontal field of view equipped with a 6-camera remote eye and head tracking system.
Our specialized research nursing core supports neonatal studies across the care continuum. In the NICU, research nurses approach parents, educate clinical staff, coordinate studies, and perform study procedures when applicable. In the postpartum unit, they engage families of well newborns, introduce eligible studies, answer questions, and connect interested parents with study teams.
Supports BSL-3 level experimental procedures by investigators at Partners Healthcare and Boston community. The core aims to enable external users to access the unique benefits of a BSL-3 facility, and to provide comprehensive services in support of this goal.
The Sample Processing Laboratory (SPL) understands that the biological integrity of a sample is the foundation of every breakthrough. We utilize validated and customizable workflows to isolate, stabilize, and preserve a diverse array of biospecimens, ensuring they are optimized for downstream analysis, long-term storage, or domestic/international shipments.
